BELLEVUE COSMETIC DENTIST SLIDE SHOW

The Bellevue Dentists at Brookside Dental are always looking for better ways to serve our patients and friends. Recently, we put together a short two minute Bellevue Cosmetic Dentistry Slide Video Collage of some of our recent Cosmetic Dental patients. We are very proud of the work that we have done and the many smiles that we have enhanced. The video represents a sampling of many types of work performed to create or enhance smiles. Each person shown in the video has had different types of Cosmetic Dentistry work performed to give the beautiful end results exhibited in each situation. The work includes extensive restoration with all porcelain crowns and porcelain veneers as well as tooth colored fillings and tooth colored dental bonding. Several cases involve cosmetic movement of a few teeth to give perfectly aligned smiles. Most cosmetic dental smile alterations and creations involve some type of tooth whitening in addition to the other cosmetic dentistry work that is done.

Bellevue Cosmetic Dentists Create Beautiful Smiles for Men

February 6th, 2009 Brookside Dental No comments

BELLEVUE COSMETIC DENTISTRY WORKS FOR MEN THE SAME AS WOMEN

Like the handsome men in the five photographs below, men in general are able to acquire significantly attractive smiles with various Cosmetic Dentistry procedures. In addition to the increased physical attractiveness resulting from Cosmetic Dental work, men with an outgoing personality are going to become even more outgoing after their smiles are altered or changed. They will, like women, most likely have better personal lives and better work opportunities subsequent to having cosmetic dental work done. In some cases only minor alterations need to be performed, such as tooth whitening, while in other cases an extreme makeover is needed with multiple procedures being involved.

Most articles and advertisements related to Cosmetic Dentistry show photographs of beautiful women. The reason for this is two-fold. First, all women want to look beautiful and younger. Just look at all of the nutrition, exercise, hair and cosmetics advertisements that tell women how to be slim and beautiful. Cosmetic surgery advertisements are primarily aimed at women. Therefore, is it any wonder that Cosmetic Dentists resort to the same thing in their advertising and on their websites, which is displaying beautiful smiles that have been created for women. These stunning smiles are one of the first things that people see on a person. Second, all men enjoy looking at beautiful women. Again, it is the beautiful and stunning smiles that are one of initial attractions for men and one of the major influences on how attractive a women’s face is perceived by men. If you look at the trade magazines for the dental field, they also exhibit beautiful smiles on women for the most part.

Recently, more and more men of all ages are having cosmetic surgery performed such as hair transplants, face lifts and tummy tucks. Like women, men also want to look handsome and more youthful. Therefore, it is not suprising that many men are having Cosmetic Dentistry work done in an effort to look better. Women and men both want to be more successful at work and in their personal life. In an earlier blog post, I discussed some surveys that indicated that attractive people have more success in life and business than other people.

I thought it would be interesting to show you some photos of men that have had beautiful Cosmetic Dental work done in our office at Brookside Dental in Bellevue, WA. Patients of both Dr Cindy Pauley and Dr Patricia Pauley are represented, and all of the Cosmetic Dentistry that was completed on these men has been done within the last two years. They vary in age, but they all have in common very attractive smiles.

All five of these nice looking men have had their smiles altered significantly by their Cosmetic Dental work here at Brookside Dental in the Seattle, WA, area. In each person’s case, the work has been different. However, they have all had their work result in beautiful smiles. Additional dental information is available on our website that deals with all of the various Cosmetic Dental procedures that were used to create these five handsome smiles.

As always, this information is not in any way meant to replace a visit and examination by your own dentist. However, if you do not currently have a dentist, you may contact Bellevue Cosmetic Dentists, Dr Patricia Pauley or Dr Cynthia Pauley, to set up a dental exam. Both cosmetic doctors can be contacted at info@brooksidedental.com in Bellevue, WA, and additional information may be viewed at their Bellevue Cosmetic Dentistry website.

Cosmetic Dentist Diastema Closure Creates a Beautiful Smile

December 4th, 2008 Brookside Dental No comments

Bellevue Cosmetic Dentist Closing a Diastema Creates a Beautiful Smile

A Beautiful Smile This Beautiful Smile on this Brookside Dental patient was obtained primarily with a diastema closure of the two upper anterior (front) teeth and along with some other Cosmetic Dentistry work. As cosmetic dentistry procedures go, the closure of a diastema is neither a particularly expensive procedure nor a difficult dental procedure to accomplish. A major benefit of this procedure is that most of the person’s original tooth structure is maintained. In diastema closure, the surrounding teeth may need cosmetic whitening and in some situations it could be necessary to have some dental bonding and composite fillings done as additional cosmetic dental work.

Below is a close-up photo of the above patient’s diastema before any cosmetic dentistry work was done.

What a Beautiful Smile-What Difference a Day Makes!

BELLEVUE DENTIST CREATES AN EXTREME MAKEOVER!

In my last blog entry, I wrote about how beautiful people may have an advantage in the business world as well as in life in general. After I finished the article, I remembered at event involving one of the orthodontists to whom we refer some of our ortho patients, to help their overall appearance by straightening their teeth. On Halloween, the orthodontist brought his staff over to our office to share in the fun of that day. The orthodontist (pirate) and his patient coordinator (witch) are flanked by three of our front office people.

Upon taking a close up photo of the patient coordinator in her costume, it was apparent that she was in need of a complete and extreme makeover. How would this person do on a job interview? This photo obviously takes the not so beautiful person to an extreme.

WHAT DOES SHE REALLY LOOK LIKE?

However, you are probably somewhat curious as to what she really looks like. Aren’t you? She is actually very beautiful. The magazine “New Beauty” would certainly recommend that at this stage an extreme makeover is in order that would include the eyes, the nose, the chin, the lips and the teeth. Maybe some work on the hair and skin tone also would be in order. So after a quick makeover, she really looks like the photo below.

This person would do very well in a job interview and all because her appearance was changed. Plastic surgeons and Cosmetic Dentists are in the business of making people look better. This in turn increases their self image and self satisfaction, which will have an influence on many aspects of their life.

Cosmetic Dental Bonding is Used to Create Beautiful Smiles

October 9th, 2008 Brookside Dental No comments

Diastama Closure with Cosmetic BondingCosmetic Dental Bonding

Cosmetic Dental Bonding with tooth colored material is a potential way to give you a new smile. You may be considering the enhancing of your smile, but you may have concerns about the more extensive procedures and their cost. Porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, and crowns on dental implants are the most extensive and expensive of the cosmetic dental procedures. For a person with these concerns, Cosmetic Dental Bonding is the perfect solution!Chipped, cracked, discolored or teeth with spaces and gaps can be embarrassing and can affect your self-esteem and confidence. Inexpensive and conservative, bonding uses a tooth-colored composite material to restore teeth and enhance smiles. One of the most common procedures that we do in our office with Cosmetic Dental Bonding is the closure of spaces between teeth, called diastamas. The closure of diastamas is most commonly requested for a space between the two upper central front teeth as shown in the above after photo.

The tooth-colored composite is placed on the tooth, then shaped and molded to achieve the desired results, including: tooth whitening, closing spaces between teeth, making teeth appear straighter and repairing chips and cracks. The material is then hardened and polished, creating a natural appearance. Although Cosmetic Dental Bonding is an exceptionally good technique to close diastamas (spaces between the teeth) between the upper central anterior teeth, it can be used to close spaces between any teeth. We have many patients that opt to have cosmetic bonding on their front teeth because this is a less expensive procedure than using either porcelain veneers or porcelain crowns. In a few cases, we have constructed an extreme makeover of the smile entirely with Cosmetic Dental Bonding with beautiful results and at a lower cost to the patient.

Dental Bonding as an Option for Smile Makeovers

Cosmetic Dental Bonding should be considered as an option in the following situations:
· to repair any anterior tooth
· to repair decay areas of anterior teeth
· to repair chipped or cracked teeth
· to improve the appearance of discolored teeth
· to close spaces (diastamas) between teeth
· to make teeth look longer
· to change the shape of teeth
· as a cosmetic alternative to amalgam fillings on posterior teeth
· to protect a portion of a tooth’s root if exposed when gums recede

COSMETIC DENTISTRY BEAUTIFUL SMILE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE EACH “A PICTURE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS”

July 30th, 2008 Brookside Dental No comments
A BEAUTIFUL SMILE BROOKSIDE DENTAL

A BEAUTIFUL SMILE BROOKSIDE DENTAL

The statement, “A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”, must have been made originally by a dentist doing Cosmetic Dentistry. There simply can’t be any field that this statement holds truer than in the area of cosmetic dentistry, where these photographs exhibit how almost anyone can have a beautiful smile. A new smile can be accomplished with minor enhancements such as tooth whitening, bonding or reshaping of one or more teeth. It also can be accomplished by major dental surgery often called an “extreme makeover.” Extreme makeovers can include porcelain veneers, non-metal crowns, dental implants, laser gum surgery, and tooth straightening. Whatever procedures a patient has done to enhance or makeover their smile, the end result of a more attractive and beautiful smile is the goal. The desire of most patients is not just a more attractive and beautiful smile, but a smile that is natural looking as well—that is where dental technique and artistic ability come together. This is where our new smile photographs have demonstrated that, “A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”, in our dental office at Brookside Dental.

About a year ago, Dr Gil Pauley started taking digital photos of the patients of Dr Cindy Pauley and Dr Patricia Pauley before they started any treatment and after their new smile treatments were finished. As Dr Gil’s ability with portrait photography has evolved, beautiful smile photographs of our own Brookside Dental patients have replaced the “stock photos” that used to hang on our office walls. Rarely in the past did patients ever ask about the stock photos that we had on the walls around the office. However, the photos of our own patients’ smile enhancement and makeover photographs have received a lot of attention and interest. Our staff takes pride in the fact that these are photographs of actual Brookside Dental patients. In fact it was two of our assistants that posed the question last year during a “brain storming” session, “Why don’t we have pictures of our own patients on the walls instead of stock photos, when we have done such excellent dentistry and we have some absolutely beautiful patients?” We print and use photos of various sizes between 8 x10 inches and 20 x 24 inches. Among the beautiful smile photos, we also exhibit our many course certificates, awards and honors, including “Chair Person of the Pacific Northwest Dental Convention 2000” (Dr Cindy), “Featured Alumnus University of Washington Dental School 2000” (Dr Pat), “Better Business Bureau ‘Small Business of the Year 2005’” (Dr Pat and Dr Cindy), “Seattle Magazine Top Dentist 2006” (Dr Cindy) and “Pierre Fauchard Academy Fellow 2006” (Dr Pat). Every one of these awards and honors is worth another Thousand Words each.

When all of the beautiful smile photos of our patients are combined with the various awards and honors that are displayed in our office and are added together, we have over 100,000 words on display if you consider that each award, honor and photograph is, “A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words”. Each of these things gives Dr Cindy and Dr Pat credibility to do advanced Cosmetic Dentistry in the minds of the patients. That credibility in turn stimulates interest and acceptance from patients to have their Cosmetic Dentistry work done by Dr Cindy or Dr Pat. Both Dr Cindy Pauley and Dr Pat Pauley have had extensive advanced training in esthetic dentistry, including courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry and the ALTO Advanced Training Program in Esthetic Dentistry. Dr Cindy also taught Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington Dental School for 12 years, where she was selected the “Outstanding Restorative Dentistry Instructor” in 1996. If you consider the certificates, awards and honors as a cake, then the patient smile photographs are truly the frosting that makes the cake beautiful and desirable.

BEAUTIFUL NEW SMILES WITH COSMETIC DENTISTRY on the Office Walls at BROOKSIDE DENTAL

BELLEVUE COSMETIC DENTIST CREATES BEAUTIFUL NEW SMILE

A BEAUTIFUL NEW SMILE
BROOKSIDE DENTAL PHOTO

Beautiful New Smiles with Cosmetic Dentistry are exhibited on the walls of our dental office at Brookside Dental. For the last year, Dr Gil Pauley has been taking portraits of our many Cosmetic Dentistry smile makeovers and smile enhancements along with before and after close up photos of these beautiful new smiles. Many of these beautiful portrait photos are now gracing the walls of our halls and clinic areas at Brookside Dental. Dr Gil has also assembled two books that exhibit our patients’ beautiful new smile enhancements and makeovers. Current smile photos, including both before and after pictures, are being taken using digital photography. However, many of our more dramatic Cosmetic Dentistry before photos were taken using a Polaroid camera, because Dr Cindy Pauley and Dr Pat Pauley have been creating beautiful smiles for many years. We are photographing current patients using the format prescribed by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, which involves a large number of photos taken at different angles and orientations. We have only recently been hanging our patients’ beautiful new smile pictures throughout the office and these photographs have gotten considerable attention and interest from our other patients. Many of our patients thought we had purchased photographs of models to hang on our walls and have asked, “Who are the models in the pictures?” or “Are these famous people in the photographs?” — Our hygienists and assistants quickly explain to them that they are “all” patients of either Dr Cindy Pauley or Dr Pat Pauley that have had beautiful new smile enhancements or smile makeovers at Brookside Dental. Both Dr Cindy Pauley and Dr Pat Pauley have had extensive advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, including courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Cosmetic Dentistry and the ALTO Advanced Training Program in Esthetic Dentistry. We get many patient testimonials regarding both our excellent cosmetic dental work as well as our beautiful patient portraits.
